About Me, If You Care to Know
I was born in a small Texas town, after which my parents preceded to move to smaller and smaller towns until I lived approximately in the middle of nowhere.
You’ve seen Last Picture Show, right? That was my youth, just more monochromatic.
Then I came to Austin to go to film school. This pretty much made me stop making movies, though I did produce a documentary short that played half a dozen festival. I did however realize how much I love watching movies, so I just figured out how to do that for a living.
Working my way up from unpaid intern to barely paid programmer was a long, fun ride full of ramen and tap water. But working at the festival did give me the opportunity to learn that Jason Reitman and I could be brothers. Evidence below (left- Reitman, right-me):
Yes, I am singing in that photo. Karaoke after the festival is a long standing AFF tradition.
Other than that I enjoy long walks on the beach and the works of William Faulkner.
Plus Jean Luc Godard is god.
